However if you happen to get dealt with a side mission having a legendary weapon mod drop, you can reroll it as long as you need a mod for the same weapon it gives out a reward and are wanting a different part than what it gave the first time. I tried to reroll the side missions by reloading a backup of the main veteran mission before it is completed and I didn't happen to get a different set of missions with different drops. Originally posted by snuggleform:I was beginning to wonder myself because it felt like I was getting so many armors but not weapon mods. This is the ONLY game design issue I personally have with Gears Tactics. Something - anything! - needs to be done about this. So yes - either make side missions optional or offer 'juicy' rewords for them as an incentive to play them or if you really wish us to play them all then make sure recruit system is changed fundamentally so that we can't simply suicide and instantly recruit new guys :) This improvised 'SKIP BUTTON' can obviously be applied during the main campaign as well! No problem because I can replace this guy with fresh recruit as soon as I get back to the menu screen :) So, I have invented my own 'SKIP button' for the time being - and here is how it works:Īs soon as side missions don't offer any legendary loot, I go into 'epic loot' missions with a single soldier and suicide with a nade on the first turn. Now, for things to be even worse and more pointless there is that strange recruit system in place that is constantly giving us new, levelled up recruits. If not, then please add already mentioned SKIP button to it as well :) If so, then please make sure legendary loot is present in each and every mission on offer since by that time we don't really need Epic loot anymore. Problem extends to Veteran play after the campaign where for every single veteran mission we are forced to complete 3 side missions! In short - make it optional with nice little SKIP button somewhere on the screen :)
This should be optional in a sense that we could go for all 3 in case we wish to add some mods and xp points to our characters but we should also be able to skip these missions if we wish. However, during the last act we are forced to complete 3 side missions when they pop up. There is something fundamentally wrong with Side Missions including Veteran Side Missions in combination with loot and recruits.ĭuring the main campaign point of side missions is really to level and gear up - fine.
